Freedom From Stress – Stop Complaining

Let today be the day you learn the grace of letting go and the power of moving on ~ Steve Maraboli

Complaining is woven into the very fabric of human behavior. When the reality of what is happening is in conflict with the way you think things should happen, dissatisfaction is often the result. Expressing that dissatisfaction often takes the form of complaining. According to a psychology today article, https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/significant-results/201706/the-three-types-complaining there are three types of complainers:

  • Chronic
  • Venting
  • Instrumental

Of the three types, only one has a constructive approach to creating change for the better – Instrumental. This type of complaining presents valid problem-solving approaches to something that needs to change. (think – climate change and Greta Thunberg!)

At some point in your lives (and usually more often than you are even conscious of) complaining creeps into your conversation. The ultimate outcome of the Chronic and Venting kind of grumbling results in inner stress, pushing away others and ultimately in your unhappiness.

So, what can you do about it?

Take a read of this well organized article to consider making some changes and moving away from the daily whine you might be embracing.
