Learning to Love

posted in: FAQ | 0

UntitledLearning how to love is the goal and purpose of spiritual life – not learning how to develop psychic powers, not learning how to bow, chant, do yoga, or even meditate but learning to love. Love is the truth. Love is the Light ~ Lama Surya Das

The essence of every human being is love. The core of the self is pure, divine, ‘connected to everything’ love. It is the indestructible ‘god particle’ that is tucked away within us that is with us from the moment we are born and before. It is the spiritual thread that joins us to the vastness and oneness of Universal love.

The event of your birth is the first life trauma. It embeds a primal subconscious memory that life is fearful and unsafe. From that moment on, you subconsciously take actions to avoid threats and you learn how to survive. You conform to the values and beliefs of our families, culture, society and religion to be saved from criticism and rejection. You develop masks that hide your vulnerability, suppress unacceptable behaviours, and bury inappropriate emotions. In the course of reshaping yourself in this way, you become cut off from that vast and divine pool of love within and you pay a high price for that disconnect. You miss out on being able to live life with authentic joy, bliss and peace. Your life is deeply affected:

  • You become unsure,
  • You don’t trust yourself
  • You look to others for support, acknowledgement and guidance.
  • You give in to the incessant critical voice within that spews self-loathing

When life stops working and becomes a struggle, you never reach the potential for limitless love and happiness that is possible. Instead, you battle financial difficulties, run from your fear, encounter dishonesty, poor health, and endure superficial, unsatisfying relationships that are based on pleasing and victimhood.

So how do you dig through the debris that has become your life and reconnect with love? How do you learn to change, to re-discover and connect with that vast Source of love, wisdom and your heart?

Breathwork

Your breath will transport you back to your heart and the process of Breathwork is the vehicle that takes you there. Through Breathwork, your breath is used to clear away the layers of life experience that block the flow of love into your life. When the path to the heart is cleared, love flows and you are immersed once again in the warm bath of sweet, sacred peace that awakens you to your deepest most real YOU…the Universal Life Force and to Divine Healing Energy.

By tapping into love in this way, you transcend the human experiences, judgments and perceived flaws that separate you from others and you accept that we are unified because we all carry that seed of Divine Love within us. In that realisation, it becomes possible to learn to love every human being, even if you don’t love the behaviors.

Take a moment to consider the nature of love…

Think of a time when you experienced the most love in your life. It might have been at the birth of your child, falling in love with another person, walking in nature, during meditation or being on the receiving end of a simple gesture from another that brought joy to your heart. How did it feel?

Those love moments seep out from the heart. They are real life examples of the vast love that lives within everyone. They prove that the love within is greater than any love you have ever felt in your life and that love comes with absolutely no strings attached.

Breathwork connects you to this vast, Divine and unconditional love. It is not based on your being physically perfect, financially successful, intellectually superior or emotionally balanced. No one can take this love away from you. It will always be present within you… you simply have to re-discover it.

You learn that love is in everything and everyone.

“If I go into the place in myself that is this love and you go into the place in yourself that is love, we are together in love. Then you and I are truly in love, the state of being love. That’s the entrance to Oneness. ~ Ram Dass
